MEDITATION as medicine

A new study finds that people skilled at meditation seem able to turn off areas of the brain associated with daydreaming and psychiatric disorders such as autism and schizophrenia.
Learning more about how meditation works could help advance research into a number of diseases according to experts. Doctors used functional MRI to assess brain activity in experienced and novice meditators as they performed three different meditation techniques.
Regardless of the type of meditation, skilled meditators had decreased activity in the brain's default mode network, which has been linked to attention lapses and disorders such as anxiety, attention deficit, hyperactivity disorder, and the buildup of beta amyloid plaques associated with Alzheimer's disease.
The researchers also found that when the default mode network (which consists of the medial prefrontal and posterior cingulate cortex) was active, brain regions associated with self-monitoring and cognitive control were also activated in experienced meditators, but not novices.
This suggests that skilled meditators constantly monitor and suppress the emergence of "me" thoughts and mind wandering. If they become too strong, these two states of mind are associated with diseases such as autism and schizophrenia.

According to statistics, having cancer is in the top 5 of the things that people fear the most. It is right up there with "death," and rightfully so.  It is also residing there with AIDS/HIV; but considering that acquiring HIV or AIDS is pretty much always your fault, getting cancer is… well, let's just say, you'll never know who's gonna get hit.


 


It is an silent epidemic that affects everyone because it respects no one. All of us know people who have cancer, people looking for ways of curing cancer; and for a lot of us, sadly, even people that are close to us and even loved ones.


 


CHEMOTHERAPY


The most popular (and accepted) method for curing cancer is chemotherapy.  Why? Because ever since we were little kids, we were taught that if we are sick, we go to the doctor. And here's one more thing we "learned," the doctor is always right. Now, for 99% of sicknesses and diseases, they know exactly what they're talking about. And even when they talk about cancer, they know all the why's and how-to's of the disease, the cells, etc.  But when it comes to curing cancer, this is where the knowledge stops.


 


For starters, here is the dictionary definition:


Chemotherapy


- The treatment of disease by the use of chemical substances, esp. the treatment of cancer by Cytotoxic and other drugs.


 


"Cytotoxic" literally means toxic to cells. This means that chemotherapy is actually KILLING your cells. Now, granted, they are targeting the cancer cells, but here's the logic. Imagine a group of people, about a hundred of them, gathered in a small room. There are 5 of them that need to be eliminated. Now imagine chemotherapy as a grenade thrown into the crowd.  Oh sure, you might kill the 5, but what happens to the 95?


 


Doctors might disagree with me on this reasoning, but it is what it is.  They have to promoting chemotherapy because as of now there is still no known procedure or perfect way of curing cancer. They have to introduce toxic chemicals to the cancer patient to kill the cancer cells.  The Doctor's Hippocratic Oath says, "Do no harm."  Uhm, I guess there are exceptions.


 


 


IF NOT CHEMOTHERAPY, THEN WHAT?


Common sense tells us that the way to restore life is by using life-restoring treatments and medicine. Then why in the world are we not including this to the methods of curing cancer?


 


The hospitals, doctors, and even the government have promoted and accepted that chemotherapy is the ONLY way to extend or lengthen the life of the patient; it is the most scientifically accepted way of curing cancer (sic).


 


Believe me when I say that there are other solutions. Chemotherapy is basically - to slowly kill you for the purpose of killing your disease (do you realize how stupid that sounds?).


 


It is time for a revolution. A healing revolution.


 


Research, research, and then research some more. Find out other healthy and life-giving ways to restore your health and other techniques of Curing Cancer.


 


Don't be a fool. Don't just accept what everyone is doing.

Everybody knows what a cancer is, right? Next to AIDS, cancer is the most-feared condition there is. Unfortunately for us, a lot of our experiences with cancer are with someone close to us or even a loved one who is suffering from it and are looking for various ways of curing cancer.


 


The next few paragraphs will probably turn you off and make you stop reading the rest of this article, but I believe it is my responsibility to report this.


 


Curing cancer has always been guesswork. Yes, you read that right, guesswork. The reason is that if it is not guesswork and the solution is already out there, why in the world are saying that it is still an incurable disease?


 


Nobody knows how to eliminate the cancer cells and replace them with new ones, without killing the patient, nobody. That is the plain and simple truth.


 


 


Cancer - Through a Different Perspective


 


Here is an interesting proposition; and this will go against everything that you have learned about cancer and about what you think the "experts" (i.e. doctors) know about it.


 


For decades, we have viewed cancer as a sickness, an illness, a disease; when in actuality, it is not. It is a symptom. A manifestation. An indicator. "Of what?" you ask. I'm glad you did.


 


Our body is so complex that even centuries of research and study can't fully comprehend what it is capable of. Our body has natural antibodies that fight toxins. Natural soldiers that drive out anything that is surplus in our body, from vitamins, minerals, toxins; even the type that causes cancer.


 


Simply put, a lump or tumor is basically a balloon that contains all the bad toxins. And this balloon is devotedly keeping the deadly toxins from spreading throughout the body via the bloodstream. This is the good news.


 


Now the bad news. When we notice the lump, we see a doctor. Doctor wants to be "sure" what it is (which means he has no idea and just wants more information and data), so he orders a biopsy.


 


Going back to our "balloon" illustration, having a biopsy is like bursting that balloon just to make sure that air is definitely what's inside. Now imagine what happens to the air in the balloon when it bursts. Right! It spreads everywhere and anywhere.

Now when the lump or tumor is punctured, what happens to the toxins being contained?  Right! It spreads everywhere and anywhere. So instead of curing cancer, it is actually making it worse. Instead of cleaning the toxins, you are actually expediting the "killing" process.


 


Oh how wrong have we been!  And the worst part? The worst part is that the doctors, hospitals, even the government are all too stubborn and proud to admit this. Maybe losing billions of dollars in the "curing cancer" research industry might play a small part in that (duh!)


 


So, what does a committed and selfless physician, fervently looking for ways of curing cancer, supposed to do? He can always start by looking outside the box. Outside of his comfort zone. Outside of what he has been taught his whole life.


 


 


Cancer - Alternatives to the Standard


 


When I say "standard," I mean our "accepted and accustomed" methods that are, frankly, not working and are actually more harmful than beneficial to the patient.


 


Don't get me wrong. I admit, curing cancer is not simple, but how we are all going about it is dead wrong. And emphasis on the word "dead."


 


Instead of ordering myriads of lab tests and procedures, doctors should study more intently and more earnestly how a tumor works; and how it is actually helping the body in the toxins-filtering process.  Then, and only then, can they start thinking about curing cancer.


 


Doctors should learn from nature. Nature is teaching us many things if we only listen. Our bodies, for example, already has a way to combat, filter, and kill the excess toxins in our system. It would be wise for our experts to start with that.


 


They have to get past the idea that cancer is the disease itself, and start treating it for what it really is, a symptom, a manifestation, an indication that there is excess toxins in the body. And then accept the fact that our bodies are more complex that we think.


 


The best thing that the doctors and other so-called experts can do is to find out how our bodies work against these excess toxins, see how our bodies react with preventive measures, and then aid and assist these measures accordingly and fanatically.


 


Like the saying goes, "If you can't beat them, learn how they do it, and then find better way to beat them!"  Actually, that's just my opinion, but it's true, right?


 


If we've spent decades looking for ways of curing cancer and still haven't been successful, then we probably need to rethink a lot of things. Never mind reputation. Never mind orthodoxy. Desperate times, desperate measures!

FORGIVE yourself

According to writer Gini Grey, blaming yourself for the mistakes that you committed doesn't help and only causes more pain. You have to free yourself from the pain and its haunting memory by forgiving yourself. You have to forgive yourself so that you'll be free from the pain and guilt and move on.

Below are ways on how to forgive yourself:

ACCEPTANCE.
We have to accept within ourselves that we are not perfect and therefore destined to screw up every now and then. Accepting responsibility is taking the naked look at ourselves, seeing the good, the bad and the ugly. Making mistakes today help us make better decisions tomorrow.

LEARN from the mistakes.
We must learn from the incident and we must not repeat it. We must not allow making mistakes to condemn us. Not forgiving yourself is like condemning an innocent man.

COMPASSION.
To heal yourself with forgiveness, it's important to have compassion.

UNDERSTANDING.
In order to forgive yourself for past mistakes, it helps to understand why things happened. Sometimes mistakes happened for the sole purpose of learning and growth.

ANGER Management

According to the author of the book "A time to be free", anger is our nemesis. When we allow ourselves to be swept away by this turbulent emotion, it takes us to places we don't want to go. It doesn't matter why we're right or wrong or if anger is a proper response. Our unrestrained anger can make us do irrational and harmful things. We insult those we love, we create problems at work; we cause emotional and even physical damage. And we demean ourselves. Afterwards, we invariably feel regret, guilty and embarrassment for things we've said and done. We obsessively rehash our words and actions, our response of those we've hurt, the discomfort we now feel, the strained relationship that we've created. Upon sober reflection, it becomes crystal clear once again that uncontrolled anger causes not only pain and disharmony in our lives, but also causes us to regress spiritually and become alienated from God. You have the right to your anger, but you also bring misery to other people's lives.

Here are some ways to control one's anger as cited by angermanagement:
- Consciously determine to be calm.
Don't react, think! Remember your goals and respond appropriately.

- Communicate.
when someone upsets you, tell him or her. calmly talk to that person about how you
feel about his or her words and actions. learn to express yourself better-clear
and composed.

- Remove yourself from the scene until you can respond without anger.
your success will not happen overnight. take one step at a time.

- Do something you enjoy.
like walking, swimming, watching a good movie and the like.

- Turn to God.
Be angry but do not sin, do not let the sun sets on your anger and do not leave
room for the devil. ephesians 4:26-27

5 Insights you should know

ONENESS
We, humanity and all sentient beings and the entire universe are really one. The great tragedy of living is thinking we are all separate from each other, and sadly, the whole world and it's values seem to be anchored on this.
When we can identify ourselves with all of life, then we have realized the Oneness.

The only time is NOW.
The present is always now and fresh if it is experienced in the NOW. Now is the only time we have. To speculate that the future will be better or to bring up the past is to create pain and devalue the only real thing we have.
The gift of being in the present means constant renewal and creativity to experience a reality we truly desire.

HAPPINESS is self-generated.
We do not need anyone to "complete" us. To make our love ones, or our objects of desire "responsible" for our happiness is to diminish the definition of love that we give and receive. Love is not "trade" wherein we love someone only if we are loved back. Love is unconditionally given and accepted. To make our giving love dependent on whether it is accepted or not is to reduce it to a deal or contract of mutual benefit, no different from a common business transaction.
Everything we need is already inside us. We are the fire and breath of our own souls.

Every SPIRITUAL QUEST is doomed to fail.
How can you find something that is already "here"?
It has always been and it will always be here. To go on a quest for it is to deny it. God is here, there, and everywhere.
Heaven is not a geographical place we go when we die. Eternity is not something that starts upon death. Heaven is the experience of the timeless and eternal that we mortals, though bound by time and space are capable of. It can be expeienced in every "now" and we do not have to die to get there. Heaven does not wait; it is we who delay experiencing it. The spiritual quest therefore is not really a quest but more of an "awakening" to transcede in everyday living. It is the discovery of both our human and divine capacity to experience in a fresh, untainted way what is already here - the world as it is.

Have you LOVE?
Our attempts at love that create wealth, stature and veything physical will not last, however, another second to serve us after we die. What will remain is the love we gave with authenticity and truth. It is those moments when we felt a loss of personal because we opened ourselves totally to love. It is the love we made, and the people whom we felt the Oneness with that will keep the love alive beyond mortality.
It is the love for others that answers the eternal questions of why life was even created in the first place. Life was created because the Oneness is love and love is the Oneness. It is as simple and as profound as that.

your life is controlled by your thoughts

Research have found out that if you want to change the way you act, we must first change the way we think. Psychologists said that our mind is very powerful and influential. If we allow negative thoughts to dominate us for sure we will end up miserable. It is therefore important that we should know how to control our thoughts, especially if these are negative ones.
A research reveals that most people speak at a rate of 150-200 words per minute, but the mind can listen to about 500-600 words a minute. So it is important that we should be aware of what kind of talk our mind is engaged in. If we are aware that our mind is entertaining negative thoughts, it is important that we should switch our thoughts to positive ones. However, in the event we feel that we are carried away by toxic talks in our mind, we have to pose for a while and try to analyze whether what the mind is feeding us is actually happening. This is an effective step to stop being controlled by negative thoughts.
The research also points out that negative thoughts do not only shape our actions, but also this has an influence in the behavior of an unborn child. It says that at 6 months old, the unborn child can see, hear, experience, taste, feel and even learn what the mother is thinking and feeling. What the pregnant mother feels emotionally is transformed directly to the unborn child. However, the most harmful is when the mother doesn't want the child.

BE YOUR OWN BEST FRIEND dr. paul hauck

DON'T feel hurt.
When you put yourself out greatly for someone and the favor was never returned just be happy that you have done a good deed. Sometimes too much expectations can be the culprit of our being hurt.

SHOW compassion, not pity.
To feel concern for another person's suffering is the mark of civility. When unfortunate things happened to those whom you are concerned of, there's is always a great tendency that you cannot help but become unhappy. However, this kind of feeling would lead you to depression. To be kind to yourself, just be aware that there are things or situations in this world that are beyond our control.

CONTROL your anger.
You have to bear in mind that it is you who create your own anger. You talk yourself into it and it is up to you to talk out of it. Anger starts by your wanting,wishing and desiring something. Before you explode you have to learn how to keep your mouth shut. Think over clearly and ask yourself why you should be angry. Raising your voice or escalating your temper would not help the situation, instead it would add ember to the fire. Keep yourself cool for a little while before you settle the situation at hand. Deep breathing can help.

OVERCOME your fears.
There are irrational ideas that create fear, especially if you have nothing to do. Remember that an idle mind is the workshop of the devil. The more you think of an idea that makes you fearful, the more you think of an idea that makes you fearful, the more it becomes stronger. So whenever something fearful is bothering you, do something or get out of the house. If not, talk with a trusted friend. But most of all, there's nothing like unloading your fears to the Lord.

FRUITS

The correct way of eating fruit is:
- it means not eating fruits after meals. Fruit should be eaten on an empty stomach,
- if you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities,

Fruit is the most important food. Let say you eat 2 slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.
In the meantime, the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.
So please eat fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals. You have heard people complaining - every time I eat fruit, I burp, my stomach bloats up, I feel like running to the toilet, etc... Actually, all this will not arise, if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!
Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes - all these will not happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.

Be aware, there is no such thing as some fruits like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the secret of: beauty longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.

NO REGRETS . . .

Every day, every moment we have a choice, a choice to be fully who we are, who we dream to be, or what we truly want of ourselves. We are responsible for our own life. Here are some steps to live life with no regrets:

Amend yourself.
Everyone makes terrible choices and past mistakes. Nobody is perfect. We all make mistakes. Continuously berating yourself for past actions is self-defeating. You can only try to repair and learn from them.

Start with your relationships.
All the people in your life have something to teach you. You can learn something from your spouse, children, relatives and friends, if you just listen and not be too self-centered.

Make sure the people in your life know how much you care and lover them.

Change any habits that hurt your body.
Consuming too much sugar and fats in food, drinking too much alcohol, lack of exercise, lack of sleep, and smoking will slowly kill you.

Stop if you have been abusive, dishonest, neglectful or cruel to any person.
It takes a strong person to say, " I am sorry, forgive me."

Focus more on relationships and less on material things.

Be aware, it is never too late to start fixing your life and to learn from your errors.

TRIALS in life

Theologian Keith Smith said: "To triumph over life's problems, we must hang in there and never give up. If we want to triumph over life's problems, we must maintain a positive attitude and entrust our problems in God's hands.

God uses problems to develop character in our lives. Just like a diamond cutter uses a chisel and hammer to chip away at the rough edges of a diamond. God chisels away on the rough edges of our life. We should never give up when life throws us a strong ball. The following are suggestions we must consider:

- As long as you are alive, anything is possible.
The only valid excuse you have to give up is when you are dead.

- Prove yourself.
You can and will achieve what you set out to do. The only time you fail is when you give up.

- Believe in your dream.
Don't listen to pessimists. Listen to your heart and to what God is telling you.

- There are people who are in the worst situation than you are.
Look at those people who are unable to walk and those who have no food to eat.

- Improve our world.
When you achieve whatever you set out to achieve, you can use your success to make a difference in this world and in other peoples lives.

- Inspire others

Late stage cancer : Still Treatable

Recurrent or metastatic cancer has always been extremely refractory. Now there's a technology to cure medium and advanced stage cancer patients giving them a new hope that is - Radio-Particle Knife technology.

The role of a particle "knife" is to kill tumor cells with radioactive Iodine 125 seeds seated in a titanium shell; having the same thickness of a pencil lead, and measuring less than half a centimeter long, commonly referred to as "particles". The doctor will then follow a treatment plan, using a special apparatus to "shoot" the "particles" into the tumor.

A certain Mr. Lee from Vietnam recently went to our hospital for examination. They found that his chest had a huge black shadow. It was later determined as a malignant thymoma. It was also discovered that the aorta and the tumor was wrapped around the artery lumen, thus the tumor was difficult to remove completely by surgery.

According to experts of Guangzhou Modern Cancer Hospital, this hidden chest tumor is usually growing slowly in the human body. Theres basically no specific sign of tumor growth in the lungs, except for some abnormalities in breathing.

Examination revealed a tumor the size of a small watermelon. Experts said that because both radiotherapy and surgery can not control the tumor growth, they will now implant 110 particles of Iodine 125 into the tumor, this will be able to kill cancer cells; consequently, the volume of the tumor gradually decreased.

According to experts, a recurrence of tumor even after doing surgery or radiotherapy cannot be solved by another operation. Radioactive particles can grow to puncture the tumor, so that particles close to the tumor cells directly and have sustained release of radiation at close range; achieving fixed-point "blasting" to kill tumors. At present, this treatment has been used in order to achieve complete regression of tumor lesions, while not constituting any hazard to normal tissue cells. It has been used to treat hundreds to thousands pf patients who had relapse or metastasis.

-It is not wise to expect something in return for the goodness or help that we extend to our loved ones or to others. What is important is that you have done a good deed.

-Any negative emotions like anger, hatred, bitterness and others are not good for the soul. Harboring them in your heart makes your life miserable and those around you. We should be the master of our emotions and not allow these demons to control us.

-Life is the greatest gift of God. Thank God that you are still alive.

-Gratitude is the greatest thing that you can do for yourself. Count your blessings and be grateful for them.

Be aware, according to the law of attraction, the path to eradicating disease is not to fight it. If you decide you are going to fight a disease, your focus is on fighting the disease and we attract what we are focusing on allow. CANCER CONTROL BREAKTHROUGH

Now, cancer control is within reach.

Argon gas is injected into the tumor that will cause the temperature inside to drop to 160 degrees below zero. This freezes the tumor in a short period of time. Helium liquid is then injected to heat the tumor resulting in the death of tumor cells.

A patient named Mr. Zhang had an advanced stage cancer in a part of his body that is very hard to reach using traditional treatment methods. His family pleaded with the doctors to help find a treatment for him. After several co-operation between the group of specialists looking after him, they decided to use a special kind of treatment.

CT guidance is used to locate the tumor and guide the penetration of the catheter containing the needle. Guangzhou Modern Cancer Hospital Professor Peng Xiaochi said that, a suddern burst after the death of the tumor cells will gradually be absorbed by the blood forming tumor cell antigens that can stumulate the body's immune system to produce new immunity cells, boosting the patient's ability to combat the disease.

After more than a week of urgent observation there was an atmosphere of joy among the doctors. The cancer cells were not only completely eliminated, there was also no sign of recurrence.

TAI CHI improves mental health

British and South Korean researchers said that among the elderly, practicing Tai chi helped sense of balance and boosted psychological wellbeing. The evidence was contradictory as to whether tai chi improved high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, muscle strength, osteoporosis and other condition.

Tai chi entails regular practice of deep breathing and relaxation techniques, combined with slow and gentle movements. It is based on tenets in Confucian and Buddhist philosophies that there are two opposing life forces, yin and yang, which governs health. Bad health results from an imbalance in these forces, but it can be corrected by Tai Chi, according to these beliefs.

Finding PEACE within

It's true indeed, that some of us, don't count our blessing. Instead we find ourselves always complaining and whining. We compare ourselves with our neighbors in terms of earthly possessions, or we find ourselves indulging in self-pity. Or we find ourselves regretting on the good deeds that we have done, especially if the people whom we shared our love and kindness do not repay us or don't have sense of gratitude. These kind of emotional interplay in our being for sure would rob us of inner peace and happiness. Writer Mashilo Thomas wrote a beautiful and profound article which says:

COFFEE cuts risk of prostate cancer

Men who drank 6 or more cups per day had a 60% lower risk of developing the most lethal type of prostate cancer and a 20% lower risk of forming any type of prostate cancer compared to men who did not drink coffee, studies showed. Even just one to three cups per day was linked to a 30% lower risk of developing lethal prostate cancer.

The effects were the same whether the coffee was caffeinated or decaffeinated, leading researchers to believe the lower risk could be linked to the anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits of coffee.

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer in US men, but it is not always deadly. A blood test can detect it early, and the cancer can be graded on what is known as a Gleason score; the higher the score the more likely the cancer is spread. There are 16 million survivors of prostate cancer worldwide, and one in six men in the United States will get prostate cancer during their lifetime.

Risk factors are typically linked to Western high-fat diets, heredity, alcohol and exposure to chemicals. The lower risk seen in coffee drinkers remained even after researchers allowed for other factors that typically boost risk and were more often seen in coffee drinkers than in abstainers, such as smoking and failure to exercise.

Human beings actually produce 2 kinds of sweat:
eccrine - a clear odorless sweat that appears all over our bodies performing the vital

apocrine - a thicker substance that is produced by glands in the under arm and groin

SMOKING c-y-c-l-e . . .

Cigarettes contain nicotine, which is the substance responsible for the addiction. Once nicotine reaches the brain, it will release chemicals called norepinephrine and dopamine, both of which make us feel good.
However, this nicotine high does not last very long. Soon you will get a tolerance to nicotine, which means you will have smoke more cigarettes to get the same pleasurable feeling. Just like any other addiction, the problem is that once you stop the supply of nicotine, you will feel weak and down. This will stimulate you to get your next puff. Hence your brain is now addicted to cigarettes.

If you really want to quit smoking, you must identify the situations that trigger you to smoke and do your best to avoid them.
BE aware, according to American Lung Association, the health benefits of quitting will begin just 20 minutes after your last cigarette. Your blood pressure and heart rate will decrease, and the oxygen content of your body will increase. Scientists say that if you really want to get rid of more fat, you should skip the pre-workout snack. Studies suggested that when your body is low on food maybe a good way to trim excess fat. Muscles usually get their energy from carbohydrates, which is why athletes like Lance Armstrong and Michael Phelps scarf down large amounts of food before a race. But if you have not eaten before exercising your body does not have many carbohydrates in reserve. That forces to burn fat instead.

Experts said that when you exercise (after fasting) your adrenalin is high and your insulin is low. That ratio is favorable for your muscles to oxidize (break down) more fatty acids. People who exercise without having eating burn more fat than they would if they have grabbed a bite before hand

Faith means having strong belief system, whether you're religious or not. Spirituality can be practicing yoga or meditation, or just contemplating nature. An optimistic outlook and the ability to handle stress are qualities needed to prevent depression and fight back when serious illness strikes.

People who start out with good behaviors are more likely to maintain them if they are regular attendees. Clinically, the survival rate for women of faith with threatening illness is higher than that of their male counterparts, since women are more receptive than men.

It is the antioxidant element in sweet potato that makes it an effective and risk-free anti-aging agent. When the body undergoes metabolism, toxic and vicious byproducts are secreted. These come by the name of free radicals -so called radicals because when these invade the body, aging hastens and degenerative diseases are triggered. Disease like cancer, heart diseases, diabetes and cataract to name some of the most dreaded.

God deployed free radicals to help kill bacteria and other harmful microorganisms in the body. In excess though, these free radicals can damage nucleus of cells. Hence these must be neutralized. The root crop sweet potato is rich in beta carotene, Vitamin A and potassium while sweet potato leaves and tops contain protein, lipids, iron, calcium and vitamin C. Taken all together, these help to fight free radicals, protects cell production from damage and hence hasten cell regeneration. Sweet potato is low in calories and have no fat so you can indulge without getting the bulge.

Be aware, the secret of youth is a nutrition and mindset issue. It has least to do with aesthetics and cosmetics. It is often in food and indulgence in unhealthy food that the human body loses in holiness and imperfections set in. Aging is an imperfection that cosmetics and aesthetics cannot hide for good.

FASTING is HEALING

If you want your body to heal by itself, get rid of toxins, improve your immune system, lose weight and keep your youth - all simultaneously, then fast. Fasting seems to have unlocked well guarded secrets why people during the time of Adam and Eve lived to 100 to 900 years. I is not the abstinence of food that makes people die and grow old easily. It is the indulging of excessive food that makes people degenerate faster.
Fasting can be done with just drinking water or juice. Physicians espousing spiritual medication recommend or prescribe fasting as a first line of defense in therapy or incorporate fasting in the cure protocol. But then many doctors in this present day world may not even believe in fasting because they might starve from the perks of drug companies. People must be freed from the ignorance of fasting to make this a lifestyle.
As a therapy, fasting does 5 things: 1) it cleanses or detoxifies. 2)it heals or restores, 3)it strengthens immunity, 4)it allows the body to rest, 5)it rejuvenates. While physicians, dieticians, nutritionists and fitness trainers recommend healthy and balanced diet, what they don't say is that the more you eat, the more your body works to break down food. The more you eat, the more toxins to clean in the bloodstream. That is why fasting is part of the triology of nutrition because even if you followed the nutrition food pyramid assiduously, if fasting is not incorporated, you deprive your body the chance to rest and heal.
When a person goes on a fast, the organs of the body especially the digestive system gets a break from breaking down all the food taken and toxin cleaning. The more you indulge on food, the more your body overworks and works overtime just to get that food processed into your system and release those toxins. But when you fast, the digestive system takes a break because energy is diverted away from the digestive system towards the metabolism and immune system.
Detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon, lever,kidneys, lungs, lymph glands and skin. Toxins in the body cause depression because the body is pollutes, the mind is compromised and the soul and spirit are troubled. Fasting precipitates detoxification because when food is no longer entering the body, the body directs its fat reserves for energy into restoration and repair of damaged organs or to strengthen the immune system. Thus the body heals with its own intelligence. Through fasting, people can turn energies inward where this can be used for healing, clarity and change in emotional and psychological demeanour. There is good evidence to prove that regulated fasting contributes to youthful and longer life.
The human body has layers of fat reserves. Overeating increases those reserves without being used. When you fast for the first 2 days, only the prevailing fat is used. When you fast for 2 more days, the reserve fat is used. These using up of reserve unwanted fats enables the body to replace itself and restore on its own. It is by this process that detoxification occurs, there is restoration and replacement, and the organs are always new and youthful. When your body uses up all its fat reserves both for energy and maintenance, it will necessarily look for nourishment. That is when you can break your fast and take in solids. It is best to eat fruits ground in a blender as the first solid meal after a fast. In the bible, Jesus and the other chosen men of God fasted for 40 days.
Be aware, when you want to fast as a healing therapy, plan out how many days you want to fast. You can fast for 2 days in a week. It is best that when you fast, you will also fast from doing work like taking a vacation from work, from cellphones, from internet. You should dedicate your days of fasting to prayer and meditation. Fasting is ineffective if you continue with your daily chores because it defeats the purpose of making your body rest.

VIT A - promotes healthy eyes, skin and hair, is important for the body's immune system. Found in eggs, and pechay.

VIT B -needed for the nervous system, formation of red blood cells, healthy skin and heart. Found in eggs, green vegetables, meat, fish and sea-food.

VIT B5 -needed for the breakdown of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Found in sweet corn, lobsters and young corn.

VIT B6 -is necessary for the absorption and metabolism of amino acids, the use of fats in the body and the formation of red blood cells. Found in shrimps.

VIT B12 -essential for the functioning of all cells and protein, fat and carbohydrate metabolism, as well as healthy nerves. Found in eggs, red meat, seafood, fish fillet, fish lips.

FOODS that help you SLEEP

CHERRIES. fresh and dried cherries are one of the only natural food sources of melatonin, the chemical that controls the body's internal clock to regulate sleep. Researchers who tested tart cherries and found high levels of melatonin recommend eating them an hour before bedtime or before a trip when you want to sleep on the plane

BANANA. Potassium and magnesium are natural muscle relaxants, and bananas are a good source of both. They also contain the amino acid L-tryptophan, which gets converted to 5-HTP in the brain. The 5-HTP in turn is converted to seratonin (a relaxing neurotransmitter) and melatonin.

TOAST. carbohydrate-rich foods trigger insulin production, which induces sleep by speeding up the release of tryptophan and serotonin, two brain chemicals that relax you and send you to sleep.

OATMEAL. like toast, a bowl of oatmeal triggers a rise in blood sugar, which in turn triggers insulin production and the release of sleep inducing brain chemicals. Oats are also rich in melatonin, which many people take as a sleep aid.

WARM MILK. like bananas, milk contains the amino acid L-tryptophan, which turns to 5-HTP and releases relaxing serotonin. Its also high in calcium, which promotes sleep.
