7. Avoid sugary foods. Sugar plus bacteria equals oral plaque. Plaque leads to bleeding gums, tooth decay and cavities. Plus the acid in refined sugars and carbonated beverages dissolves tooth enamel.

8. Gargle with apple cider vinegar in the morning and then brush as usual. The venigar helps removes stains, whitens teeth and kill bacteria in your mouth and gums.

9. Brush your teeth with baking soda once-a-week to remove stains and whitens your teeth. You can use salt as an alternative toothpaste.

10. Eat "detergent" foods. Foods that are firm or crisp help clean teeth as they are eaten like apple, carrots, celery and pop corn.

11. Practice flossing your teeth.

12. Never use your teeth as tools for anything except eating.

13. Drink 8-ounce glass of water for every hour at work. It keeps your teeth even more pearly white. The more water you drink, the more bacteria you flush off your teeth and out of your mouth.

14. Suck- dont chew- extremely hard foodstuff such as peanut brittle, hard candy or ice - to avoid cracks.

15. Chew cinnamon-flavored or sugar free gum once a day. Cinnamon-flavored chewing gum reduced bacteria in the mouth that caused bad breath.

16. Eat a container of nonfat yogurt everyday. Your teeth need adequate calcium to remain healthy and strong.

BE AWARE, to keep your teeth in tip-top shape, you'll need to go far beyond just brushing and flossing. Researchers have found out a link between periodontal (gum) disease and increased of heart disease. Men with periodonsitis had a 72% greater risk of developing coronary disease than those with healthy gums.
