FAITHWORKS

A writer once said: "the spirit does not only give life to the body, it also animates and energizes it, and can even direct the course of it's health and vitality.

A belief in a Creator makes the person acknowledge that He has power over him. She then tends to believe that she has access to resources beyond her comprehension, understanding or knowledge at this particular moment in time. If you have that attitude, you are better prepared to handle difficult situation in your life. You do not get caught in a dead end because you know that somewhere, somehow, sometime, provision and/or wisdom will be coming your way. When your mind is attuned to this kind of attitude, it orients your whole perspective according to this context, and your body follows.

Faith is a benevolent Supreme Being who actually cares can make a patient more cooperative as far as treatment is concerned. The studies indicate that there is a correlation between physical health and a spiritual state that is at peace with God and augmented by a stronger faith.

Praying to God personally or with other in a spirit of community can also lead the patient to resolve certain emotional issues, such as forgiveness, which in turn brings about medical benefits.

BE aware, while more research is needed to formally evaluate the health benefits of forgiveness, a number of small studies has shown numerous potential health benefits confirmed by forgiveness:
decreased anger and negative thoughts
decreased anxiety
decreased depression and grief and
decreased vulnerability to substance use
