Benefits of Drinking GREEN TEA

CUT CANCER RISK. several polyphenols - the potent antioxidants that green tea is famous for - seem to help keep cancer cells from gaining a foothold in the the body by discouraging growth and then suppresing the creation of new blood vessels that tumors need to thrive.

SOOTHE YOUR SKIN. got a cut, scrape or bite and a little left-over green tea? Soak a cotton ball in it. The tea is a natural antiseptic that relieves itching and swelling. Green tea has been shown to help block sun-triggered skin cancer, whether you drink it or apply it directly to the skin - which is why you're seeing green tea in more and more sunscreen and moisturizers.

STEADY YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE. healthy blood pressure means below 120/80. Research said that people who sip just half a cup of green tea a day are almost 50% less likely to wind up with hypertension than non drinkers. Credit goes to the polyphenols (ECGC) they help keep blood vessels from contracting and raising blood pressure.

PROTECT YOUR/YOUR MOM'S MEMORY. Green tea may also keep the brain from turning freezy. Adults who drank at least 2 cups-a-day are half as likely to develop cognitive problems as those who drink less. The tea's big dose of antioxidants fights the free-radical damage to brain nerves seen in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

STAY YOUNG. the younger and healthier your arteries are, the younger and healthier you are. So fight plaque build up in your blood vessels, the sticky stuff increases the risk of heart disease and stroke, add years to your Real Age and saps your energy. About 10 ounces of daily intake deters your body from absorbing artery clogging fat and cholesterol.

BE aware, green tea speeds up your body's calorie burning process.

SERVING FOOD TO DIFFERENT CULTURES

CAUCASIANS - are wise spenders, always hungry for good food and unique dining experiences. Europeans and AMericans tend to be very paticular about wine lists.

INDIANS - spend less, respond to value-for-money offerings.

JAPANESE - spend more and are more daring with their choices. They are very particular about the freshness of their ingredients.

THAI - like having chefs from their country. They appreciate when you are able to prepare their food with utmost authenticity

PINOY - are average spenders. They try stuff they find interesting. They usually ask their server for recommendations.

Be aware, the way to a mans heart is thru their stomach, whatever culture you belong to it all boils down to this statement

SUFFERING

Whatever one's station in life, suffering is part and parcel of the human experiences. From the point of view of many have-nots, the suffering of the rich are self imposed. "What reason do they have to suffer when they have everything?" the poor ask unable to comprehend. And yet the rich do suffer, just like everyone else. But whatever we say about suffering, being part of being alive, our impulse is to end it when it is there. So perhaps the question we should ask ourselves is - how does one end suffering?

M Scott Peck said: "the acceptance of suffering is the key" The moment we accept it, it stops being suffering.. We deprive it of it's sting when we welcome it in our lives. It may take a while, but in the end, we accomodate it as part of our existence, we can live with it better until it does not feel like suffering anymore.

Life is demanding but if it is to be profoundedly lived, life must be embraced with all of its unsavory aspects.

Be aware, we have to develop a mind set that is more accomodating of all experiences instead of just going for only for what is pleasurable and completely avoiding pain. No dividing or separating, no rejecting but accepting that even the unpleasant, the horrible, the repulsive has something to teach us all the time.

Health Benefits of WATERMELON

1 Help prevent cancer and slow down aging. The deep-red watermelon variety have pigment lycopene, help prevent prostate cancer by countering bad effects of free radicals circulating in the body. Once we reduce these free radicals, we can theoritically slow down aging.

SUCCESS

A survey found out some common attributes among the wealthy:

1 They had parents with high aptitude for math. Common professions among the parents of American billionaires were engineering, accountancy and small-business ownership.

2 American billionaires were born in the fall than in any other season. Many were born in September.

3 More than 20% of the 292 of the self made American billionaires on the most recent list of the World's Billionaires have either never started or never completed college like Microsoft's Bill Gates, Apple's Steve Jobs, Dell's Michael Dell, Larry Ellison and Theodore Waitt.

4 Billionaires who derive their fortunes from finance make up one of the most highly-educated sub-group.

Be aware, another attribute noted is thaat several billionaires suffered a bitter professional setback early in their careers that heightened their fear of failure. Poverty is a good incentive for success, but of course, you also need good breaks in life.

VIPASSANA Meditation

SN Goenka, the man who introduced the ancient technique of Buddha to the world, emphasized that a Vipassana meditative sitting guarantees a gradual movement to happiness and peaceful co-existence with others.

Awareness as taught by SN Goenka, is a matter of keeping in touch with living in the present moment. To be aware of living in the present moment is also to live in time , to live in the flow. If life has it's cause and effect, to live in the present is to have awareness of the choices we make now, knowing that these bear fruits later. Choices can lead to happiness or misery. To live in the present is also to learn to nurse the mind because our refuge is in us and not in something outside.

Be aware, one of the insights you gain from a Vipassana sitting is tha fact that you are the author of your actions. It is up to you to weigh your priorities. Pains and pleasure come and go, equanimity teaches you to acceop these for what they are and decide against letting them overwhelm you. It is part of nursing the mind. www.dhamma.org

REAL BEAUTY

The definition of beauty is a perspective or a point of view. It is an individual statement on what one stands for - a statement that reflects one's morals, values or a personality as a whole.

Beyond all that is physical, it is a deeper understanding and realization of appreciating oneself. In all concept of beauty and all that it represents, imperfection does not exist. Real beauty is embracing the truth of what you have an d who you are. In a skin-deep world filled with the latest technology in physical enhancement, there still exist those who just love the way they are.

Be aware, wahen one looks at the mirror, oftentimes one tends to look for an imperfection that needs instant remedy. This is an illusion created by worldly entrapments that do not substantiate our essence of being - a misconception of what real beauty is all about.

EPA and DHA lll of lll

EPA and DHA are fatty acids in omega 3. These antioxidants support heart health and serve as the body's building blocks for important tissues like the brain and nervous system. EPA and DHA also protect cardiovascular cells from the damaging effects of free radicals.

Saturated fats are solid at room temperature but omega3's fats are liquid at room temperature. Diets containing large amounts of saturated fats can result in cell membranes that are hard and lack fluidity. On the other hand diet rich in omega-3 fats produce fluid-high-functioning cell membranes in normal, healthy bodies.

Be aware, you can protect your cardiovascular system one cell at a time, by maximizing all the benefits offered by omega-3 cells. Also research shows that they support the heart's natural rhythm.

CELLULAR NUTRITION ll of lll

Every cell in your body is surrounded by a membrane composed of fat. The cell membrane protects working parts of the cell and controls the flow of all substances into and out of it including nutrients(in) and waste products(out). If cell membranes are not healthy, then the cells don't function well and our health suffers.

Cells without healthy membranes lose their ability to hold water and vital nutrients. They also lose their ability to communicate with other cells.

Be aware, researchers said that loss of cell-to-cell communication can result in the growth of cancerous tumors. So the integrity of our cell membrane is affected by the type of fat we eat.

HEART to HEART by LOU Ignarro I of III

Omega 3 oils are considered "essential" fatty acids because like vitamins and minerals, they cannot be manufactured by the body. Omega 3's must be obtained from food such as salmon, tuna, alibut, marine life such as algae and krill.

Research has demonstrated that these antioxidant fatty acids provide support for healthy cholesterol and triglyceride levels, blood pressure in the normal range and the promotion of blood vessels health and elasticity.

Be aware, Omege-3 oils are incredibly important in supporting cardiovascular health.

Being HAPPIER

Dr. Gerald Bell said: "You are 100% responsible for your own happiness. It's not up to someone else to fix it for you." Work is a potential source of happiness- when you see it as a privilege rather than a choice. Pursue work that makes you happy. If you are happy, you generally become more generous, compassionate and open. When you help others, you feel better about yourself, and in turn when you help yourself, you are more inclined to help others. This cycle can make life's burden easier to bear.

In order to increase happiness, you should engage in rituals that can give structure to what you do - studying, pursuing a career, or sustaining relationship. If you don't have a structure, you are likely to live a reactive life and just go with the flow, good or bad.

Be aware, that the more complex your life becomes, the more difficult it is to enjoy each moment. Always remember that happiness is mostly dependent on your state of mind.

SILENCE is S-P-A-C-E

Zen practitioners said: " It is mindfulness awareness, being the now is meant by being in the moment". It is total attention to the task at hand whether it is washing a plate, conversing with someone, writing a paper, singing, dancing, painting, walking. . . But not to the exclusion of awareness of what is happening around - a fire next door, an emergency call, the pie burning.

Focus is enhanced by meditation. By going into the s-t-i-l-l-n-e-s-s. Silence is the space where answers come in. A little human effort is necessary for this discipline. One can begin by sitting 5 minutes-a-day in the same place at the same time. Just to establish a routine.

Be aware, at first it is difficult. But expectitions and boredom eventually vanish. Meditations becomes longer and more pleasurable and automaically stretches to 30 minutes or 1 hour. One must just not expect results. One can meditate for years and remain on the same plateau, But inevitably the big picture will merge. Silence is one's anchor. The home base to which
one will want to return againg and again.

LET GO means . . .

Zen-ists said: let go means letting go of one's everyday feelings of control-"to rest". To stop thinking. Because this will open one to whatever is going to happen. Most of the time,, it is something beyond the expected. Letting go also means - go with the flow. Deepak Chopra calls it "the flow of life" - the harmonious interaction of all the elements and forces that structures existence.

Be aware, going with the flow is also called the law of giving and receiving, the essence of relationships. If you only know how to take, if you only know how to give, that interrupts the flow.

APHRODISIAC FOODS II of II

WATERMELON. it is red and juicy, suggestive descriptions that make it an aphrodisiac. A study suggesting that watermelon may have viagra-like effects on the body made headlines in the US recently. It contains large amount of plant nutrient "citrulline" which is known to have beneficial effects on the cardiovascular and immune system.

ALCOHOL. science called it "fake" aphrodisiac. Moderate quantities lower inhibitions and cause a warm glow in the body but over indulgence can contribute to erectile dysfunction.

Be aware, as shakespeare describe it: it provokes and unprovokes." it provokes the desire, but takes away the performance.

APHRODISIAC FOODS I of II

CHOCOLATE. was banned from some monasteries centuries ago because of it's mood altering effects. Studies have shown that chocolate has phenyl-ethylamine (PEA) which also occurs naturally in the mind. PEA naturally reaches peak levels during orgasm and administering PEA increases dopamine levels, stimulating the pleasure centers. It has been shown to induce feelings of attraction, excitement and gladness.

Be aware, eating chocolate is said to be similar to having sex, in that it makes you feel good.

OYSTERS. because of it's resemblance to female organ, this ancient aphrodisiac lives on to this day. Oysters are high in zinc which is necessary for sperm production.

Be aware, raw oysters are also high in D-aspartate acid and N-methyl. D-aspartate which increased testosterone levels which could in theory increase libido.

KISSING EASES STRESS

Kissing unleashes chemicals that ease stress hormones in both sexes and encourage bonding in men, though not so much in women. Chemicals in the saliva maybe a way to assess a mate.

More than 90% of human societies practice kissing which is believed to have 3 components:
1 sex drive -pushes individuals to assess a variety of partners
2 romantic love -cause one to focus on an individual
3 attachment -allows them to tolerate this person long enough to raise a child.

Man tend to think of kissing as a prelude to copulation. Men prefer "sloppy" kisses in which chemicals including testosterone increases the sex drive in both males and females.

Be aware that when you kiss, an enermous part of your brain becomes active. Romantic love can last a lifetime provided - you kiss the right person.

LOVE makes kids SMARTER

In a recent study, babies that have tight relationships with mother figures do much better on cognitive test than babies who receiver only the basics of food, shelter and friendship with peers.

In 1950's parents are advised not to respond to crying babies, felt infants should sleep alone, to grow up independently and for God's sake put that kid down. Later on mothers were soon permitted to have their newborns next to them in the hospital, and these days no one looks askance a baby on a sling.

Be aware, we are primates, social beings which need attachment and love.

LOVE'S in the HEAD not the heart

The source of love is in the head, not the heart. Love mostly can be understood through brain images, hormones and genetics. Loves works chemically in the brain like a drug addiction; a wonderful addiction when it is going well, a horrible one when it is going poorly. Love is supposed to be something wonderful and grand, but it has its reason - to keep us together.

Be aware, but sometimes love does not keep us together. So the scientists studied the brains of the recently heartbroken and found additional activity in the nucleus accumkens, which is more strongly associated with addiction - similar to craving the drug cocaine.

EXERCISE for LIFE

If you're in your 20's work out in a gym. If you're on your 30-40's work out at home. At any age, take it outside with mother nature to work out. Most popular choices: walking, jogging/ running and biking.

Quickie stress zappers:
^ Get moving. successfully tame tension by a heart pumping work-out
^ Get more sleep. it is a successful anti-stress strategy
^ Lighten up. majority of the stuff you worry about never happens, and if it does, ask God for help.
^ Peanut butter sandwich. it is protein packed and rated as the best work-out snack.
^ Music. sing the praises of mp3 or other tunes tool-its motivational

Be aware, exercise today beats dieting and makes weight management easier. It also tames tension because a good work-out shrug off stress. And lastly it is like a free health insurance. regular exercises can help you prevent all sorts of illness.

EGO

Ego gets a bad rap because it is the source of desire, and a large ego has large desire. There are 2 roads open to those who must deal with burning desire:

1 To dilute or even kill all desire through meditation and rigorous spiritual and religious practice. In this case, one must alter one's life so that all sensual thrills and material desires are renounced.

2 To go to the path of meditation and have a spiritual life but with the aim of managing the intensity of one's desire instead of renouncing it altogether.

Ken Wilber suggest that instead of renouncing, one must transcend, to use it in the service of the spirit.

Be aware, to engage the world with a great desire, to improve the lives of people is to have an ego the world will benefit from.

HUMILITY

writer Chuck Gallozi said: "Those who are spiritually awake can not help but be humble". For are we not made from the dust of the earth? How can we stand before the universe, and not be humble. The successes that we have were not entirely of our own doing. Didn't we have the help of our parents, teachers and friends. Because of the help from from others, we can not brag. Way to be humble:

^ Admit when you need help and be humble enough to welcome advice.

Be aware, and refuse to entertain the belief that you are above doing what is needed. Remember we come nearest to the great when we are great in humility.

Adult MILK

Researchers said that as women go throught menopause, their estrogen levels fall which leads to rapid decrease in bone density making women 8 times more likely than men to develop osteoporosis.

As women age, their calcium intake should also increase to cover their increasing calcium needs. However, when weight level and fat reach obese levels, it becomes a health danger that could lead to all types of diseases. So the less fat there is, the better the milk is for you.

Be aware, before picking up any adult milk of the store shelf, take a moment to check it's label making sure that it meets your needs.

BREASTFEEDING

1 Provides good nutrition for the baby. It is basically the only nutrition needed for the baby for the first 6 months.

2 Provides immunity and protection against illnesses. The first few days after birth contains colostrum - antibodies that will strengthen the baby's immune system.

3 Strengthens the emotional bond between mother and baby. Feeling of satisfaction to the mother and a sense of security for the baby.

4 A natural contraceptive. Helps in the spacing of children, allowing the mother to recover from the demands of pregnancy.

5 Saves money. It is the most far reaching and least costly strategy of alleviating poverty.

Be aware, with all these benefits of breastfeeding, if more mothers would do this most natural way of nurturing the baby, we will have a community with healthy children and adult.

WEIGHT LOSS for the COUCH POTATO

There are 2 guaranteed ways of getting healthy proper diet and exercise. The worst part about being a couch potato is that not only are you doing nothing, but you are stuffing yourself with unhealthy food and drinks that can make things worse. The key therefore is to choose the right type of food and drinks you will watch tv with. The more sugar thats in your drink, the more you should avoid like the following:

^ gulaman
^ iced tea
^ powdered juices
^ softdrinks
^ sugar water

Be aware, sugar is needed for energy and since you do not want to do any strenous activity, you really do not need much of it. Sugar has a lot of effects in the body and some of them could lead you to obesity.

EARTH HOUR 2009

All lights out at exactly 8:30pm March 28, 2009 all over the world to observe the EARTH HOUR - a global activity to raise awareness of climate change and global warning.

Launched in Australia in 2007, EARTH HOUR is a global event involving the voluntary shut-off of electricity in homes, offices, public places and commercial establishment for one hour from 8"30 - 9:30pm in all time zones to express support for environmental issues.

Be aware, Philippines had the most number of cities and towns participating in the event with 647 cities and municipalities around the country up for Earth Hour. Ranked a distant 2nd was Greece with 484 cities and towns, followed by Australia with 309, Canada with 273 and the United States with 270.

EARTH HOUR is really a symbolic act we should be practicing energy conservation and environmental consciousness everyday in any way we can, be it water and electricity.

The other SECRET

The law of attraction simply says that you attract into your life whatever that you desire and think about, because our thoughts will find ways to manifest our desire. Due to our desire to fulfill our dreams and aspirations, we develop our tendency to be reliant on attracting too much positive yearnings only without even exerting a little effort.

Be aware, taking time to establish the law of attraction is indeed a total waste of time - we do not philosophize this time, but rather strategize on a tangible, doable and rational way to pull off our desires.

^ Submit yourself into action. Move. We have to work for our dreams and take 100% responsibility for them.

^ Decide to be happy. it is an option and a decision to make.

^ Trust yourself. if you desire something, believe that you can achieve it.

^ Gain maturity. develop the maturity to understand that lessons are learned the
hard way.

MUSIC and EXERCISES

A study suggests that music and exercise combined boosts brain power and working out or jogging with it increases endurance by up to 15% Music also allows you to concentrate better on your workout. It also help you get into exercise mode and have you done with your routine in no time. Constant activity burns calouries- every little bit of movements count.

Be aware, an hour of washing your car can burn up to 300 calories, re-arranging furniture burns 450 calories, while sleeping burns around 50 good ones.

LIVING ONE-DAY-at-a-TIME

Ways to avoid stress.

1 Thank God. remember to thank God for everything despite the trials, heartbreaks that comes your way.

2 Dream BIG. always dream big for the welfare of all.

3 List the things that make you joyful. then you will learn to appreciate the simple joys that life brings - playing with a puppy. . .

4 Commune with nature. nature speaks and teaches us so many facets in life.

5 Exercise- everyday. you can have more time to think about your dreams and goals.

Be aware, when you are feeling stressed out or burn-out is a sign that informs you to take a break and assess yourself.

Science and PROBIOTICS

Probiotics are often called "good bacteria" It promotes a healthy gut. They help the digestive system recuperate after children have been treated with antibiotics by restoring the good bacteria that were destroyed by medication. They can also be used to offset the side effects from antibiotics like diarrhea and gas. They also increase the absorption of nutrients in food. Since probiotics help prevent intestinal infection, the body is more likely to absorb more and better nutrients needed for normal growth.

Be aware, research said probiotics help prevent bowel condition, protect kids against allergies and reduce the risk of colon cancer. Some foods like growing up milk are fortified with probiotics as healthy nutritional ingredients.

W O R D S

We lived in a world of words. But only a few understand the power of language to channel thought and expression. Often words flow out as a stream of disorganized information. A brain "dump" of conversations arguments and point of view lost in the chaos of presentation.

Sometimes saying less accomplishes more. That's why skilled salesman know when to stop talking. Letting others make the point and connect the dots can win them over to your side.

Be aware, as the buddhist teaching which says: " Do not talk unless you can improve on the silence". Sometimes, keeping silent is the best way to keep the peace and the friendship.

PREBIOTICS

Prebiotics are non-digestible ingredients of food that stimulate the growth of micro organism present in the gut.

Sources of prebiotics include fruits, legumes, and whole grains. However, some milk brands are now fortified with prebiotics so children can maintain a healthy digestive system. Prebiotics maybe identified as "obligosaccharides" or dietary fibers in nutrition labels.

Be aware and protect your children from illnesses during these times by strengthening their immunity with a healthy diet that includes probiotics and prebiotics from their growing up milk.

Effect of SOCIAL REJECTION

Researchers found that people who feel socially rejected are more likely to view other peoples actions as hostile and also more likely to behave badly to other people. This explains why social exclusions is often linked to aggression that in some cases is so extreme it can result in school shootings and other tragedies.

Be aware, getting the cold shoulder can turn some people into hotheads.

Women and OSTEOPOROSIS

Osteoporosis is a skeletal disease where bones becomes thin and brittle due to insufficient calcium intake. As we grow older, our bones undergo constant breaking down. Menopause also accelerates bone loss in women. Hormonal changes can significantly reduce the body's ability to deposit calcium in our bones. The first 7 years after menopause or around the ages of 50-60 years is the most vulnerable time when most bone loss occurs.

This is because the sex hormone estrogen which a woman produces declines in production. Estrogen is essential in the maintenance of bone strength and a decrease in estrogen levels means less calcium is deposited in the bones.

Therefore women going through menopause face a higher risk of osteoporosis.

Be aware, osteoporosis is also caused by other factors like heredity, low body weight, small frame, race, lack of physical activity, medications, smoking, and heavy alcohol drinking.

Benefits of KIWI FRUIT

1 consistently ranks as the top fruit in nutrition density models

2 rich in vit c - twice as much as there in oranges

3 high in vit e, folic acid and potassium

^ vit e - well known for its heart health and anti oxidant property
great low fat natural source of vit e
^ folic acid- needed to prevent defects in babies and cardiovascular disease
^ potassium- has the same level of potassium as bananas but only half the
calories-potentially beneficial in the maintenance of blood
pressure and for heart health

4 good source of the carotenoid lutein- can actually do good to prevent age
related deterioration of eye-sight.

5 high in antioxidants and other potentially beneficial phytochemicals and other
unique enzymes.

6 can help improve the function of immune system

7 eating just 2 kiwi a day has been proven to reduce the amount of oxidative
damage to your cells and improve the repair of damage DNA caused by oxidative
stress.

Be aware, just 2-3 kiwi a day has been shown to reduce blood platelet aggregation.

Telling LIES can be stressful

It would be good for liars to tape or video what they are saying. And let them listen to themselves again and again in front of a mirror. After sometime, they won't be able to look even themselves straight in the eye. Sooner or later, they will stop because they won't be able to go on listening to their own lies.

Be aware, on the contrary, a truthful person can listen to his/her own truth with equanimity, and look herself/ himself straight in the eye with peace and tranquility deep inside.

WISE AND AWAKENENED

There are people who are awakened to their own time nature and are at peace and awake to their unity with everything as it is. They discover a mind that is vast and endless, not restless or frantic, not seized or compelled by anything, but ready to react and act on the world. The mark they wish to leave is not some external infrastructure that will last long after have gone, but a legacy that inches up the consciousness of everyone they encounter by a few notches.

The activity of the wise are more focused on teaching and mentoring others and sharing nuggets of wisdom picked up along the way of a long life well-lived.

Be aware, the wise go in and out of the temporal and the external. The dreamers are building a future heaven on earth for themselves and others, while the awakened are telling everyone that heaven is already here and now.

AGE and WISDOM

While age is almost always a trait of the wise, it does not come automatically with aging. There are many old people who never quiet cross the bridge of being wise and remain foolish and trivial all their lives. They are sad tragic individuals. The mark of the wise is a calm, at-peace demeanor, the propensity to act on the world tempered by the lessons learned in younger days.

The paramount characteristic of desire and lust is it's insatiability. In other words, one does not necessarily lose desire and lust no matter how old one gets. One must simply decide to temper and control them or sublimate them for other goals. And the practice of doing this creates wisdom.

Be aware, like a blacksmith one must learn to deliberately shape the metal into something more useful for the later stages in life. Afterall, the pursuit of wisdom is not lesser calling but something nobler and higher than the pursuit of power.

DREAMERS

To explore and conquer the external world is the agenda of those who dream of a better future. Their dreams are what keep them going and they will not rest until they achieve them. In fact, such dreamers are seized and compelled by their dreams. It is easy to see why the world needs them.

The external world is where one invest and expends his energy with all of his power to make a mark. It is where dreams are pursued and fulfilled.

Be aware, the dreamers are concerned with temporal results and issues actually live their lives directed at some distant future that is still to be made. They are the lords of the temporal plane.

The BOOMERANG Principle

People in life fall into 3 categories with regards on how they view relationships.

TAKERS- takers receive and never give. They have a me-first mentality. They try to extract as much as they can from the relationships in their lives and rarely, if ever consider giving back.

TRADERS- traders receive then give. They picture relationships as an equation in need of balance. If someone helps them, they feel a debt of gratitude. If they aid another person, they expect a favor in return.

INVESTORS- investors give and then receive. They are the kind of people who gives purely for the joy of giving. They add value to others, not as a part of a cold calculation but as a habit.

Be aware, although their giving may not earn them an instant return, in the long run, they reap the gratitude and goodwill of those that have helped.

LEAVE The Baggage Of The Past

There is no one in this world who has not suffered some tragedy on one way or another in his/her life.

Life is full of ups and down. It brings us pleasant and heart-rending surprises at regular intervals. People give us unstinting loyalty and love; at the same time others betray us and stab us in the back. So often, that we bleed all our lives from the unbearable pain of the hurt. However, if you are interested in positive progress, success and happiness in life, you have to give up the "baggage of the past" and move on with life.

Be aware, that past sufferings, mental, emotional and physical can leave indelible and often permanent marks in our bodies and mind. The result is loss of spirit and confidence, depression, negative feelings of hatred and ill will. Hence, one must throw the baggage of the past.

CARBS-based Breakfast

In the morning, simple carbohydrates (white rice, white bread, sugary refined cereals, toast etc) causes an immediate surge of blood sugar level which results to a substancial emission of insulin. The insulin removes sugar from the blood turning its excess into fat. The result is a decreased level of blood sugar, and craving for more carbs. This cycle repeats itself 2 to 3 times during the day.

BE aware, this vicious cycle constitutes one of the major reasons for diabetes, high blood pressure and extra weight.

Significant Toilet Numbers/Dates

2 by 3 - measurement in inches/sheet of toilet paper first produced in China in 1391 for the use of the emperor.

Toilet paper was patented in 1871 by enterpreneur Zeth Wheeler.

1775- year that a flushing water-closet was first patented. The modern toilet, patented by Alexander Cummings was originally invented by Sir Hohn Harrington, godson of Queen Elizabeth I in the 16th century.

1852- the world's first public toilet was opened. Built in London by the British Society of Arts, the toilet was intended for men. A toilet for women was opened 9 days later.

2003- year that the art exhibit by Monica Bonvicini was unveiled in London- a usable public toilet enclosed in a one-way mirrored glass situated on a sidewalk which allows the user to see outside while passers-by cannot peep in.

$50,000- cost of an overnight stay in a toilet shaped-house in South Korea, billed as the world's one and only toilet house built by the sanitation activist Sim Jae Duck. It is part of his campaign for cleaner comfort rooms worldwide.

53- age of the creator of the most expensive toilet when he died in 2008. Jewelry tycoon Lam Sai-wing created a $4.9million solid-gold toilet complete with a gold-toilet brush holder in hongkong. The toilet was listed in the Guiness Book of World Record as the most expensive of it's kind ever made.

Be aware, up to 40,000 gallons estimated volume of water could be saved in 1 year by using waterless urinals instead of standard flush urinals. Created by Ditmar L. Gorges, the waterless urinal uses a biodegradable chemical called sealant liquid instead of water.

TOILET Matters/Facts

The humble toilet is the most popular room in the house - it is the first room to go to when we wake up, the last room we visit when we turn in at night. Below are some truths about it:

1 More than 40% of the world's population do not have access to basic sanitation.
2 The world's consumption of toilet paper accounts for 72,000 acres of woodland per day.
3 The toilet uses up to 30% of indoor water consumption.

Be aware: In Japan- it is considered unethical to let other people hear you peeing. So public toilets are installed with music to cover it up or using otohimie to mimic the sound of flushing.
In Singapore- you could be fined up to $150 for not flushing. In Switzerland- it is against the law to flush a toilet after 10p.m. if you live in an apartment. In Korea- a closed cubicle door in the ladies room means the stall is vacant. In France- they prefer scented and colored toilet paper, the standard being pink.

Note:
Dentists recommended that a toothbrush be kept at least 6 feet away from a toilet to avoid airborne particles resulting from the flush.

DESTINATION

Rollo May, a psychologist said: "It is an old ironic habit of human beings to run faster when we have "lost" our way. Maybe that describes you. It could happen to anyone - strong, aggressive individuals as well as quiet, passive type. Even Paul was engaged in a mission of assault - putting Christians where he felt they belonged, out of circulation! until . . . he met the very Man he was trying to convince others was a fraud.

Be aware of the results: a changed life, a changed man, a changed mission even a changed name - Paul the apologist. Are you in a big hurry these days? Driving yourself at breakneck speed . . . but unaware of your destination?

GATES: Richest Again As Recession Shrinks Billionaires

Forbes magazine said: even billionaires felt the heat of global recession. They did not escape big stocks this year from the list of 793 billionaires - down from 1,125 billionaires in 2008. The much awaited list:

1 Gates net worth: $40B losing 18B software/microsoft
2 Warren Buffett : $37B losing 15B investment
3 King Carlos: $35B losing 25B Mexican telecom

Be aware, the US surge sent billionaires from India, Russia and Turkey into retreat. Russia where wealth is closely tied to commodity prices, lost almost 2/3 of it's billionaires down from 87 to 32. Russian oligarch have long been famous for flaunting their wealth, but this year nome of them make it into the elite top 20 compared to 4 in 2008 list. 2 Indians appear in top 20 notably steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal with just $19.3B after losing $25.7B over last year.

YOUR CHOICE

Every day is a gift of God yet we have a choice:

1. to celebrate God's love or to worry about God's love
2. to respond to God's love or to abuse God's love

Instead of living a grateful life, you are living a life that is focused on disappointments and
imperfections. Instead of spending your life rejoicing in God's grace and mercy, you are burdened by life's could-have-beens and should-bes!

Be aware, it all boils down to humility. Take the road of humility and it will lead to God's heart where there is peace, joy and love. Take the road of pride and it will take you to misery in all form.

ESSENTIALS in LIFE

Time is not our own. It is a precious commodity and should not be taken for granted. What we only have is the "present" and we cannot tell what will happen in the future as only God knows. Below are some of the things you can meditate upon:

- what would you love to accomplish before you die?
- if you were to begin to achieve that/these, what is the first change you would make?
- what would you need to include more in your life?
- what would you need to have less in your life?
- if you had to guess your life purpose, what would it be?
- what daily habits could you replace with a better daily habit?
- what are your highest aspirations for this year?
- what are the greatest lessons in life you have learned?
- what is in your life that needs attention?
- what strategies could you use to better manage your daily priorities?
- what is perfect about where you are in your life right now?
- is there anything you are ignoring to which you should be paying attention? be HONEST.
- what are your greatest strengths and how will you leverage them?
- what do you need to give yourself so that you can give more to others?

Be aware, we only pass this life but once. Learn to thank God every day for all the blessings He has given you and realize how blessed you are.
